The Bassets
-
Lina Lamont
Meet Lina, the Basset Hound who started it all. She truly embodies everything a Basset should be - sassy, stubborn, and ruled by a nose. Lina is the namesake behind our Instagram account, Lina's House of Hounds.
-
Babka "Babs"
Babs got the rescue ball rolling. She was a farm hound living in Southern Colorado, and the world was her playground. She chased goats, scared fish, and dug up the garden. When her wanderlust lifestyle started putting her in danger, we stepped in to give her a new home.
-
Blintz "Bea" Arthur
Bea joined Lina's House of Hounds when her family, who had rescued her from Animal Services in El Paso, was faced with an impossible decision. They were moving across the country and couldn't find housing. We happily took Bea in, and now she's the official "mom" to every puppy and scared foster that comes our way.
-
Mona
Mona, known as "Mon-y Baloney" to her friends, joined the crew after having her puppies at Lina's House. Mona was found extremely pregnant in New Mexico, where her humans had abandoned her. After having seven puppies (all successfully placed by the Animal Rescue League of El Paso), she decided she had already found her forever home - and never left.

Flapjack Fanny
Fanny spent four years working as an official scent dog in the Texas prison system. She attempted to make the transition to a drug-sniffing program with Border Patrol, but, unfortunately, she failed out. Their loss was our gain, as Fanny joined the pack and was trained as Jordyn's Service Dog.

Stanley J Shortstack
Stanley came from Two Rivers Rescue in El Paso and joined us at only eight weeks old. Stanely has no idea he's a Great Dane and not a Basset Hound, so don't tell him! He's working hard as a Service Dog in Training.
